Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Theo Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tshering Wangchuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wangchuck is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rapa - Rang Sem Kar Ga Mikar. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Theo Matthews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tshering Wangchuck!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matthews clinches up with Wangchuck and pushes him back against the cage.
Matthews is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Wangchuck is defending well for now.
Matthews goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wangchuck prevents it.
Matthews is looking to take this one to the mat.
Matthews managing to block the knees to the body from Wangchuck.
Wangchuck lands an elbow that stopped Matthews in his tracks for a moment.

Matthews's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Matthews seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

and Matthews counters with a left to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matthews working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Matthews scoring with punches to the head and body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Matthews accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wangchuck working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Matthews.
Wangchuck looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Matthews throws a big elbow that misses.
Wangchuck avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matthews missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Matthews postures up in Wangchuck's guard and throws a big left but Wangchuck blocks it.

Wangchuck wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Matthews's hips, looking to push off. But Matthews grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Wangchuck screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Theo Matthews!
After winning the bout, Theo Matthews thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
