Velazquez's entrance music is Since the Flood- . A fine choice. Juan Velazquez has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Velazquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyron Woodley!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodley dives in and grabs Velazquez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Velazquez pushes down on Woodley's head and hops out.
Woodley walks into a stiff left hand from Velazquez.
Woodley ducks under a wild hook from Velazquez.
Velazquez misses with a series of wild punches.
Velazquez swings for the body but Woodley moves out of range.
Woodley takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Woodley takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Velazquez throws a right hand that Woodley ducks under and follows up with a left that Woodley also avoids with ease.
Woodley lands with a nice combination. Velazquez backs away looking to recover.
Woodley moves away from the strike by Velazquez.
Velazquez throws a series of strikes that have Woodley backpedaling.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Woodley working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Velazquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Woodley on the ground.

Woodley is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Velazquez's shoulder. That is not cool.

Woodley is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Woodley has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Velazquez's face.

Velazquez looks to land a combination but Woodley avoids it well.

Woodley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

I've got Woodley winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
