The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimm swinging wildly here.
Rubin gets the takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Rubin misses with the ground and pound.
Sloppy strikes there by Rubin.
Rubin looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Grimm is avoiding damage well.

Rubin grinds an elbow into Grimm's temple.

Rubin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Rubin throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Grimm works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Rubin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Rubin is pressing down on Grimm's thigh, looking to free his foot. Grimm is holding on for now.

Rubin wants to pass the guard but Grimm is defending well.

Rubin slips a nice elbow through Grimm's hands, connecting with Grimm's forehead.
Rubin winds up and cracks Grimm with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Grimm is rocked!
Benjamin Grimm's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Rubin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rubin is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Grimm is hurt! He's hurt bad - Rubin fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Grimm from any more punishment! Congratulations to Rubin! Great finish!
