PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Scotty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bates comes into the arena with Kansas-Dust In The Wind blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Scotty!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bates gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Scotty drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Scotty jabs Bates right on the nose. Bates blinks but takes it well.
Scotty lands a nice hook to Bates's body. Bates takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Bates will probably get the nod.

Bates turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bates manages to end up in side control.

Scotty will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bates has picked Scotty up - he's going for a ride! Bates dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Bates tries to stand but can't do so whilst Scotty controls his leg.
Scotty looks like he's trying to stand up.
