The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Repomies tries to clinch but Mctanned moves out of range.
Mctanned tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Repomies swivels and escapes.
Repomies throws a body punch but Mctanned moves out of range.
Mctanned looks for a takedown but Repomies sprawls well.
Mctanned closes this distance looking for a takedown but Repomies circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Mctanned. That's going to take a lot out of him.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mctanned is on top in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Repomies can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mctanned tries to pass to full mount but Repomies defends it.
Mctanned thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Repomies's head.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Mctanned working over Repomies with some ground and pound. Repomies looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mctanned is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Repomies defends it well.
Mctanned throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Repomies wants to improve his position but Mctanned is controlling well.

Mctanned throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mctanned wants to pass to mount but Repomies is defending the position.
Repomies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mctanned. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mctanned is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Repomies felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Mctanned has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mctanned looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mctanned is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Repomies!
Mctanned can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Repomies is looking to escape.

It looks like Rauno Repomies has been cut.

Mctanned jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Repomies is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Repomies and Mctanned has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mctanned throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Mctanned has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Repomies is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mctanned yanks on the arm and Repomies is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mctanned.

Paul Mctanned seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
