Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Smierdzielski!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smierdzielski with a poor takedown
and Kelly connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kelly throws a combination that misses
and Smierdzielski counters with a right hand to the body.
Smierdzielski looks to land a left hand but Kelly moved out of range nicely.
Smierdzielski misses with a series of wild punches.
Kelly's jab looks to have found its range, popping Smierdzielski under the eye.
Kelly buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Kelly drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Kelly got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smierdzielski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kelly has managed to get both his arms back between Smierdzielski's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kelly wants to stand but Smierdzielski has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kelly drops back looking for a leg! Smierdzielski is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smierdzielski manages to kick Kelly off! Kelly jumps back into Smierdzielski's guard.

Smierdzielski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kelly doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kelly manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Smierdzielski pushes a forearm under Kelly's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Kelly is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
