Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andre Prudencio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cacper Mendak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andre Prudencio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cacper Mendak!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prudencio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Prudencio shoots in and drives through. Mendak sprawls well.
Mendak stuffs the takedown attempt from Prudencio. Prudencio gets slowly back to his feet.
Mendak tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Prudencio shoots in for a double leg but Mendak sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Prudencio. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mendak tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Prudencio swivels and escapes.
Prudencio is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mendak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Prudencio throws a right and a left that Mendak avoids nicely.
Prudencio will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Mendak looks for a takedown but Prudencio sprawls well.

Prudencio takes the fight into the clinch.
Mendak takes a shot to the head.
Mendak is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Prudencio has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mendak uses from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Mendak tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Prudencio smiles and moves away.
Prudencio misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mendak doesn't manage to clinch there - Prudencio circles away.
Prudencio lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mendak struggles to land a body shot inside as Prudencio controls his hands.
Prudencio lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andre Prudencio will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Prudencio is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mendak gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Mendak tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mendak goes for a takedown attempt but Prudencio pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Mendak or perhaps it was just good defense by Prudencio which made him look bad.

Prudencio will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mendak misses with a takedown attempt - Prudencio sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Prudencio counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Mendak changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Prudencio tries to avoid it but Mendak manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Prudencio to the ground. Prudencio escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Prudencio jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mendak walks away with a smile on his face. Prudencio gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mendak moves in looking to clinch but Prudencio pushes him off.

Mendak has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Prudencio avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Andre Prudencio dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


No luck for Prudencio with that takedown attempt.

Prudencio uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mendak.
Prudencio really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mendak is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Prudencio is keeping busy.

Mendak would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Prudencio manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mendak manages to get himself to full guard.

Mendak is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Prudencio is aware though and is defending well.

Prudencio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendak on the ground.
Mendak looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mendak is trying to control the position but Prudencio postures up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mendak has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Prudencio has passed into side control.
Mendak manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Prudencio is looking for a sweep. Mendak is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mendak wants to control but Prudencio is keeping him busy.
Mendak thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cacper Mendak has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mendak throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mendak trying to control from half guard but Prudencio is working away.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Prudencio tries to kick Mendak off in order to stand up. Mendak Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Prudencio is letting Mendak control him for a moment.
Mendak tries to stand but Prudencio is controlling his head.
Prudencio dodges the ground and pound from Mendak.
Mendak wants to stand but Prudencio is controlling his arm.

Mendak is working to tighten is grip on Prudencio's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Prudencio has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mendak is really squeezing tight and eventually Prudencio passes out! Mendak breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
