Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andr De Fran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colt McLaren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Fran comes to the cage accompanied by No Worries. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andr De Fran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Colt McLaren!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Fran throws a series of punches but McLaren avoids them all with ease.
A chopping leg kick lands by De Fran.
Some bone on bone action there as De Fran checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
McLaren takes a head kick and keeps coming.
De Fran is looking to slow McLaren down with leg kicks.
De Fran pivots, looking for a leg kick but McLaren is out of range and De Fran settles back down.
McLaren tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
De Fran is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
De Fran throws a half hearted mid kick.
McLaren moves out of range as De Fran throws a body kick.
De Fran wants to clinch.
De Fran leaves McLaren with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

McLaren connects with a solid leg kick.
McLaren takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A bone on bone clash there as De Fran blocks the leg kick.

McLaren pushes De Fran up against the cage in a clinch.
McLaren struggles to land a body shot inside as De Fran controls his hands.
De Fran lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

McLaren pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
De Fran throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
McLaren avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
De Fran tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
De Fran slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
De Fran thumps McLaren with a low kick.

De Fran misses with a jab, cross combination.
McLaren throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

De Fran lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

De Fran throws a low kick, looking for McLaren's leg but McLaren calmly moves out of range.
Andr De Fran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and McLaren makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. De Fran really felt that one!

McLaren shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with De Fran but De Fran pushes him off and we're back to square one.
De Fran attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

McLaren stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from De Fran.
McLaren fails in his attempt to clinch.

McLaren walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. De Fran checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
McLaren uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by De Fran.

McLaren has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

De Fran controls McLaren momentarily but McLaren frees himself.
McLaren sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed De Fran's guard.

McLaren looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks De Fran with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McLaren is taking a breather. De Fran says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
McLaren wants to pass the guard but De Fran is defending well.

Colt McLaren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

McLaren drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
De Fran tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McLaren in side control, throwing shots but De Fran defends.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Fran is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McLaren tries to score with some ground and pound. De Fran controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andr De Fran.
I think De Fran has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
