PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roene Dekker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bam Margera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Margera comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Clutch - The Regulator kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Bam Margera!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dekker tries to land a front kick but Margera steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Margera fakes the leg kick and cracks Dekker in the body.
Dekker ducks right into an uppercut from Margera.
Margera throws a wild body kick that Dekker sees coming a mile off.
Roene Dekker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dekker pivots, looking for a leg kick but Margera is out of range and Dekker settles back down.
Good leg kick by Dekker there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Dekker shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Margera closes the distance and pushes Dekker back into the cage.
Dekker lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Margera gets through Dekker's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dekker is pushing Margera up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Margera lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dekker has a couple of punches blocked by Margera.
Dekker lands a left hand.

It looks like Bam Margera has been cut.

Dekker gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Margera regains guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dekker connects with a couple of short punches.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dekker works over Margera with some ground and pound from guard.

Dekker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Margera is trying to improve his position.
Dekker grinds an elbow into Margera's temple.
Margera is not content to let Dekker control the position.

Margera is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dekker connects with a decent elbow.
Margera takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Dekker crunches a massive hammerfist down on Margera - he's out! Dekker Holds back on further strikes and jumps to his feet to celebrate with the crowd!

In his post fight interview, Roene Dekker started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
