Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida comes into the arena with No more Shadows for the Past- NARNIA blaring out of the sound system. Perry has chosen Run For Cover as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Perry looks to land a left hand but Machida moved out of range nicely.
Perry cracks the inside of Machida's front leg.
Machida scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Machida is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Perry.
Machida jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Machida swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Perry fakes the leg kick and cracks Machida in the body.
Machida scores with a jab. Perry acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Some bone on bone action there as Perry checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perry throws a front kick aimed at Machida's knee but Machida avoids it well.
Machida tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Perry manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Perry creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

That was a close round but I would say that Renzo Machida will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Perry on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Machida clobbers Perry with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Machida chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Perry can pounce on him.
Perry uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Machida.

Machida throws a solid leg kick but Perry takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Machida.

and Perry counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Machida is on top in guard.
Machida is looking to stand up but Perry won't let him.

Machida takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Perry is staying active underneath Machida, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Renzo Machida.
Machida throws a hook to the side of Perry's head but Perry sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Perry's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Machida connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Perry scrambles back to his feet.
