Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Victor Ulriksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Victor Ulriksen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Smith!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Smith.
Smith lands with a straight right. Ulriksen didn't see that one coming.
Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Smith ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ulriksen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ulriksen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Ulriksen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Smith cracks Ulriksen with a good jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ulriksen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ulriksen trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Ulriksen misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Smith managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Ulriksen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ulriksen tries to advance to mount but can't.
Ulriksen working the strikes but Smith uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Smith avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ulriksen.

Ulriksen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.

Ulriksen has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ulriksen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ulriksen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Smith has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Smith!
Ulriksen is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Smith slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Ulriksen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith trying to control the position but Ulriksen is working away.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ulriksen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ulriksen is trying to improve his position.

That was a close round but I would say that Victor Ulriksen will probably get the nod.

Smith lands a jab to Ulriksen's midsection.
Smith digs a good body shot into Ulriksen's ribs.
Ulriksen throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ulriksen shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Smith is looking for a sweep. Ulriksen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Ulriksen.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ulriksen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ulriksen is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Ulriksen is stalling here. Smith is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ulriksen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Smith has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Ulriksen wants to control but Smith postures up.
Ulriksen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Smith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ulriksen has Smith up against the cage in a clinch.
Ulriksen is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now.
Smith tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Ulriksen avoids it.
Smith lands a nice shot to the body.

Ulriksen lands a takedown into guard.
Ulriksen trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Smith can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ulriksen controls the pace.

Ulriksen passes Smith's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ulriksen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ulriksen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Ulriksen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Ulriksen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smith defending well as Ulriksen loads up on a big left hand.
Smith scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ulriksen tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ulriksen is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
A combination from Smith does no damage.
Smith missing with a left hand there. Ulriksen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Smith is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ulriksen rather than just go for the knockout.
Ulriksen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ulriksen.

Ulriksen clinches up with Smith and pushes him back against the cage.

Ulriksen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Smith prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Ulriksen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith tries to work over Ulriksen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Ulriksen drags the fight down to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ulriksen is on top in guard.

Ulriksen wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Ulriksen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ulriksen wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position.

Ulriksen has gone for a leg lock! Smith slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ulriksen's guard.

Victor Ulriksen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ulriksen thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Victor Ulriksen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Smith tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ulriksen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Smith looks a forlorn figure.

Ulriksen trying to control but he's not successful this time.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ulriksen lands with some strikes.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ulriksen has control of Smith's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Smith regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Victor Ulriksen showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ulriksen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
