The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooke defending well as Van Der Sluijs loads up on a big left hand.
A head kick misses from Van Der Sluijs.
James Van Der Sluijs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Der Sluijs throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Thomas Hooke has been cut.
Van Der Sluijs bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Nice defenses there by Hooke.
Van Der Sluijs plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hooke walks forward, straight into a front kick from Van Der Sluijs.
Hooke is looking to clinch but Van Der Sluijs is avoiding it.
Hooke on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Van Der Sluijs. Van Der Sluijs obviously looking to wear him down.
Hooke pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hooke goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like James Van Der Sluijs has been cut.
Van Der Sluijs waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hooke.
Van Der Sluijs tries a head kick but it misses.

Van Der Sluijs throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Van Der Sluijs looks to land a right hand but Hooke moved out of range.
Hooke scores with a hook to the body. Van Der Sluijs takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hooke takes a swing at Van Der Sluijs's ribcage but misses.

Hooke clinches up with Van Der Sluijs and pushes him back against the cage.
Van Der Sluijs throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Van Der Sluijs keeps control of Hooke as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Van Der Sluijs tries for a takedown but Hooke manages to get underhooks.
Hooke blocks a body shot from Van Der Sluijs.
Hooke lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Van Der Sluijs backwards.
Hooke lands a nice uppercut.

Van Der Sluijs tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Hooke.
Hooke lands a left hand that snaps the head of Van Der Sluijs backwards.
A hook to the body from Hooke.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hooke stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Hooke lands a left hand.
Hooke tries a body shot but Van Der Sluijs blocks it.
Hooke controlling the action here for a moment.
Van Der Sluijs has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Van Der Sluijs's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Hooke has Van Der Sluijs pushed against the cage.

Hooke lands a body shot in the clinch.

Hooke breaks the clinch.
Hooke avoids a kick to the body.
Hooke looks to score with a jab to the body but Van Der Sluijs is just out of range.
Hooke throws a hook but Van Der Sluijs avoids it easily.
Hooke checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Van Der Sluijs jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hooke gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Van Der Sluijs looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Van Der Sluijs throws a head kick that misses.
Hooke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hooke looks to land a right hand but Van Der Sluijs moved out of range.
Hooke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Van Der Sluijs was well out of range. Poor timing from Hooke.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hooke lands with a nice combination. Van Der Sluijs backs away looking to recover.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hooke lands a really nice looking cross but Van Der Sluijs seems unphased.
Hooke connects with a body shot that sends Van Der Sluijs's belly button to the back.

Van Der Sluijs slips a straight right by Hooke.
Van Der Sluijs throws a looping overhand right but Hooke ducks down to avoid it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Van Der Sluijs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Van Der Sluijs closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Van Der Sluijs uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hooke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Hooke dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Hooke takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hooke moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Hooke misses with a series of wild punches.
Hooke clobbers Van Der Sluijs with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Van Der Sluijs throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hooke uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Van Der Sluijs.
A jab from Hooke does it's job there.

A punch combination from Hooke misses.
Van Der Sluijs is still on wobbly legs! Can Hooke finish him?
Hooke steps in with a hook that catches Van Der Sluijs right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Hooke follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Van Der Sluijs looks absolutely devastated.
