Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jan Zawistowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morris McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jan Zawistowski has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jan Zawistowski seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zawistowski misses the jab.
McDonald checks a leg kick nicely.
Jan Zawistowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zawistowski defending well as McDonald loads up on a big left hand.
Zawistowski throws a right and a left that McDonald avoids nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Zawistowski doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

McDonald escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McDonald bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Zawistowski's head backwards.
Zawistowski scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
McDonald tests Zawistowski's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

McDonald fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
McDonald changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A big left from Zawistowski misses.
A clash of legs there as McDonald blocks the low kick.
Zawistowski tries to close the distance and clinch but McDonald swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zawistowski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McDonald.

Zawistowski swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

McDonald bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jan Zawistowski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zawistowski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McDonald fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
McDonald takes one to the chin there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McDonald needs to keep his hands up - Zawistowski had a free shot at his head there.

McDonald changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zawistowski tries to avoid it but McDonald manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zawistowski to the ground. Zawistowski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jan Zawistowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Morris McDonald.

McDonald tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zawistowski was well out of range. Poor timing from McDonald.

McDonald avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zawistowski throws a lazy right hand but McDonald sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Zawistowski misses with a wild combination.
Zawistowski misses with a low kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zawistowski tries to clinch up but McDonald circles away and keeps his distance.
McDonald slips under a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Horrible takedown by McDonald or perhaps it was just good defense by Zawistowski which made him look bad.

Zawistowski throws a shot from downtown. McDonald moves away and avoids it.

McDonald feints and as Zawistowski raises his hands in defense, McDonald changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McDonald is looking to pass into half guard but Zawistowski pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Zawistowski is in guard.
Zawistowski has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McDonald has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Zawistowski should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, McDonald has tightened it up now! Zawistowski should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
