PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Severi Suhonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean VonFoster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suhonen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lentävä Kalakukko. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suhonen avoids the body shot from VonFoster.
Suhonen misses with a double jab.
Good exchange - Suhonen coming out on top.
Sloppy strikes from Suhonen. Those never looked like landing.
Suhonen misses with a head kick.
Severi Suhonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suhonen lands a high kick!

VonFoster fails with an attempt to clinch.
VonFoster blocks a head kick by Suhonen.
VonFoster tries to clinch up.
A punch combination from Suhonen misses.
Suhonen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Suhonen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Suhonen thows a body shot but no joy.

VonFoster tries to clinch there but Suhonen circles away.
Suhonen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

VonFoster shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. VonFoster showed some decent athleticism there.

VonFoster is trying to work for a kimura but Suhonen is defending well.
VonFoster is trying to control. Suhonen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
VonFoster passes to side control.
VonFoster is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Suhonen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked VonFoster off and has taken his back!
VonFoster is covering up but some of the strikes from Suhonen are getting through and doing damage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Suhonen scoring with big shots to the body. VonFoster is looking for a way out. A despairing look towards the ref and the official steps in to stop the fight. VonFoster was obviously done but didn't want to tap out.
