The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fusuaga lands a nice looking body shot.
Pele Fusuaga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carlitos misses with an uppercut
and Fusuaga counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Carlitos decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fusuaga's guard.

Fusuaga tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fusuaga keeping moving, preventing Carlitos from controlling successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carlitos missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Carlitos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carlitos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fusuaga is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlitos advances to half guard.
Fusuaga is trying to maintain the position but Carlitos is very close to passing his half guard.
Carlitos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fusuaga keeps working.
Carlitos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Fusuaga is staying active underneath Carlitos , who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Carlitos is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Carlitos connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Carlitos throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fusuaga tries to lock up and control but Carlitos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Carlitos lands a nice shot to the head.
Carlitos throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Fusuaga because Carlitos loaded up on that one.

Carlitos has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Fusuaga's face.

Fusuaga is rocked!
Carlitos looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Fusuaga covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
