PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yann Phok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phok is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yann Phok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Renato Silva!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Silva as he connects with a hook.
Phok is breathing heavily.
Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Phok shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Phok changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Phok manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Phok moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Silva throws a left that rocks Phok and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Silva dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Phok regain composure!

It looks like Yann Phok has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Phok! Silva senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Phok out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Renato Silva!
After the fight, Renato Silva was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
