Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dante Vader!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Vader is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pettis gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Pettis prevents the takedown attempt.
A bit of stalling here from Pettis.
Pettis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Vader.
Anthony Pettis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dante Vader.

Pettis jumps guard and drags Vader to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Pettis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Vader thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pettis keeping full guard, as Vader tries to pass.

Vader drops back looking for a leg! Pettis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pettis manages to kick Vader off! Vader jumps back into Pettis's guard.

Pettis working for a triangle but Vader defends it easily.
Vader distracts Pettis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Vader has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pettis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vader is aware though and is defending well.
Vader missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Pettis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Pettis looking for a guillotine here but Vader defends easily.

Pettis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Vader postures up in Pettis's guard and throws a big left but Pettis blocks it.
Vader cracks Pettis with a solid left hand.
Vader keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pettis's head.

Pettis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vader defends it easily.
Pettis trying to keep a closed guard but Vader is proving a slippery customer.

Pettis has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Vader doesn't defend quickly enough and Pettis has managed to lock this one up! Can Vader escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pettis on a fantastic submission victory.
