Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Chalas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Nichols (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chalas comes into the arena with My Life-Eminem ft. Adam Levine blaring out of the sound system. Zack Nichols has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Luis Chalas's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nichols fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nichols scores with a nice head shot.
Nichols misses with a leg kick.
Nichols throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chalas sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nichols throws a nice inside leg kick.
Nichols looks for the body kick but Chalas saw that one coming.
Good exchange - Nichols coming out on top.
Nichols tried to score with a low kick but Chalas checks it.
Nichols misses with a hook
and Chalas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nichols throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nichols cracks Chalas with a good jab.

Chalas looks to land a right hand but Nichols moved out of range.

Chalas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nichols throws a head kick but Chalas moves out of range.
Zack Nichols seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nichols takes a swing at Chalas's ribcage but misses.

Nichols fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chalas manages to avoid it.
Chalas stalks Nichols and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nichols's face. Nichols staggers backwards, shaken.
Nichols lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Chalas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nichols motions for Chalas to come forward. Nichols throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Chalas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nichols misses with a low kick as Chalas jumps back.
Chalas checks a leg kick.
Chalas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chalas lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Nichols throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chalas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nichols throws out the jab.
Nichols throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Nichols fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nichols pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chalas avoids the head kick by Nichols.
Chalas connects with a nice looking jab.
Nichols throws a half hearted mid kick.

Chalas manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Nichols on his heels. He'll look to pass Nichols's guard now, I'm sure.

Chalas drops back looking for a leg! Nichols is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nichols manages to kick Chalas off! Chalas jumps back into Nichols's guard.

Chalas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Nichols regains full guard. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chalas passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Chalas tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Chalas works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Nichols is looking to reverse the position.

Chalas has hold of Nichols's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Nichols tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Chalas cranks the arm and Nichols screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Nichols, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Luis Chalas!
Luis Chalas was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
