Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Koon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koon kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Zion - Fluke. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Simmons!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Simmons tries to avoid it but Koon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Simmons to the ground. Simmons escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Koon is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Simmons has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Koon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Simmons wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Simmons is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Koon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Koon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Simmons's best efforts.
Koon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Simmons pulls his head out easily.

Simmons is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Koon is refusing to be controlled, as Simmons sits in half guard.
Koon tries to roll over but Simmons keeps him under control.
Simmons is pressing down on Koon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Koon is holding on for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Koon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Koon has momentary wrist control but Simmons slips an elbow through the middle.

Simmons is in close to Koon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Koon has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Simmons is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Koon.

Koon wants to hold on but Simmons pushes him away.
Simmons is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Koon to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Koon shrugs it off.
Koon is in a horrible position here. Simmons smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Simmons fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Koon regains half guard.
Simmons seems to be working for a kimura but Koon defends the submission attempt.
Koon gets back to full guard.
Koon is trying to keep Simmons in close.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Simmons is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Koon is rocked!

Simmons arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Koon's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
