PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Keith Ha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Watermelon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keith Ha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Watermelon!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ha lands with a nice body punch.
Watermelon throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ha lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Watermelon circles away quickly and effectively.
Ha just misses with a punch to the body.
Watermelon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ha as he jumps to the side.
Watermelon shoots in for a double leg but Ha sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ha misses the shot to the body.
Ha ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Watermelon moves away.
Watermelon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ha but Ha pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Keith Ha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Watermelon.
Ha cracks Watermelon with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ha throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Watermelon.
Ha will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Watermelon avoids the body shot from Ha.
Watermelon on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Watermelon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ha was covering up waiting for the punch and Watermelon finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ha has his hands on Watermelon's head, controlling the position.
Ha might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Watermelon trying to control but Ha is working from the bottom.

Watermelon drops back looking for a leg! Ha is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ha manages to kick Watermelon off! Watermelon jumps back into Ha's guard.
Ha keeping moving, preventing Watermelon from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ha wants to control the position but Watermelon says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Ha is looking to control Watermelon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ha avoid being mounted?

Watermelon is working for a submission of some sort.
Watermelon is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Watermelon is working for a kimura but Ha is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Watermelon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ha has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ha is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Watermelon passes to side control.

Watermelon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ha is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Watermelon is controlling him well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Watermelon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Watermelon is looking to take a break and control but Ha is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Phil Watermelon will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Watermelon fails to land the takedown.
Watermelon gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ha.


It looks like Phil Watermelon has been cut.
Watermelon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ha's waist but Ha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Watermelon off to one side.
Watermelon does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Keith Ha is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ha scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Watermelon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ha counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


Watermelon is rocked!
Keith Ha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Watermelon.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crack! Ha connects with the perfect overhand right and Watermelon falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Ha!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Keith Ha!
