The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Vader blocks the leg kick.
Springs misses with a double jab.

Springs closes the distance and pushes Vader back into the cage.
Vader drops down looking for an ankle pick but Springs pulls his leg out and moves away.
Some wild striking there from Springs.
Springs throws out a leg kick but Vader moves out of range and Springs only half commits.
Springs misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vader checks a low kick from Springs.
Springs misses with a wild combination.
Springs misses with a lunging right hand

and Vader counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Springs's guard now.

Vader drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vader jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Vader advances to half guard.

Vader seems to be working for a kimura but Springs defends the submission attempt.
Vader tries to pass to full mount but Springs defends it.
Springs blocking the ground and pound attempt from Vader.
Vader passes the guard and advances to mount!

Vader wants to finish this one by submission but Springs is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vader.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Springs working to try and regain half guard.

Vader connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Springs is trying to stand.
Springs in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
