The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts throws a hook to the side of Sapp's head but Sapp sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sapp scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Nice shot by Sapp.
Sapp is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Roberts tries to bum rush Sapp with a series of wild strikes but Sapp uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Roberts throws a sloppy head kick and Sapp moves out of range easily.
Ziggy Sapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sapp is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Roberts.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sapp.

Sapp feints and then cracks Roberts's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Roberts down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sapp lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roberts circles away quickly and effectively.

Sapp fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Roberts has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Roberts jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Sapp lands with a thumping leg kick.
Roberts throws a hook to the side of Sapp's head but Sapp sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sapp lands a jab-cross combination.
Sapp gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sapp scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Roberts doesn't seem bothered though.
A combination from Roberts does no damage.
Sapp throws an overhand right that lands on Roberts's shoulder, as Roberts tries to avoid the shot.
Sapp stuns Roberts with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sapp lands a two punch combo.
Sapp thuds his shin into the meat of Roberts's side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sapp throws a shot from downtown. Roberts moves away and avoids it.
Sapp lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Roberts falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
