Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrone Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Gites!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gites scores with a jab to the head.
An inside leg kick lands from Gites.
A clash of legs there as Wallace blocks the low kick.
Gites avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gites circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gites looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gites with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Gites finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Wallace walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Gites rushes Wallace and presses him up against the ropes.
Gites goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Gites breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wallace moves out of range of the body kick from Gites.
Wallace tries to clinch but Gites is having none of it.
Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gites swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A chopping leg kick lands by Gites.
Wallace fails with a takedown attempt.
Wallace tries to clinch up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gites throws a right and a left that Wallace avoids nicely.
Wallace tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Gites manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gites cracks a nice hook into Wallace's ribs.

Wallace closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gites did well to prevent Wallace getting side control.
Gites is trying to control but can't.

Gites looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Gites moves into full guard.

Gites is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wallace is aware though and is defending well.
Wallace content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Wallace throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gites works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wallace missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gites utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wallace loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Gites has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wallace can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Gites keeps moving.

Gites looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wallace stands and throws Gites's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Gites gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Gites is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Wallace with shots to the head and body - Gites looks very uncomfortable down there.
Wallace fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Gites wants to hold on but Wallace pushes him away.
Gites takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gites is desperately trying to improve his position but Wallace has a good base and remains in mount.
Wallace raining down shots from the mount!


Gites is rocked!
Wallace connects with a bit shot that sees Gites covering up! More strikes from Wallace and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Wallace is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tyrone Wallace!
Tyrone Wallace tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
