Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Namor McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Enea Vollare Mezzo. McKenzie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Man From Atlantis kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fedor Emelianenko could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Namor McKenzie's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Namor McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Emelianenko scores with a takedown into McKenzie's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Emelianenko trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McKenzie has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Emelianenko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Emelianenko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Emelianenko throws a strike but McKenzie rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emelianenko looking for submissions from the bottom but instead McKenzie passes into half guard.
McKenzie is pressing down on Emelianenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Emelianenko is holding on for now.
Emelianenko is trying to get back to full guard.

McKenzie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Emelianenko is in trouble now - McKenzie has advanced to mount!
Emelianenko is working to get back to half guard.
McKenzie manages to capitalize on a mistake by Emelianenko to take his back!
McKenzie is trying to stick to Emelianenko's back but Emelianenko is turning into McKenzie. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in McKenzie's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Emelianenko.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Emelianenko's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Emelianenko throws an elbow that misses. McKenzie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Emelianenko's guard. Nice move by McKenzie!
McKenzie passes Emelianenko's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McKenzie in particular looking to stall.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Emelianenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McKenzie trying to control the pace.
Emelianenko tries to roll over but McKenzie keeps him under control.

Emelianenko keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Emelianenko is looking to improve his position.
Emelianenko manages to get to full guard.

Emelianenko is looking for a triangle but McKenzie pushes his legs off easily.
McKenzie preventing the sweep.
Emelianenko tries to strike from the bottom.
Emelianenko wants to sweep but no luck.
McKenzie must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McKenzie trying to control but Emelianenko is working from the bottom.

Emelianenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McKenzie trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Namor McKenzie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Emelianenko thuds a left hand into McKenzie's body.
Emelianenko throws a right and a left that McKenzie avoids nicely.
The fighters circle momentarily. McKenzie darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Emelianenko checks the leg kick nicely there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and McKenzie counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Emelianenko throws a poor cross that misses
and McKenzie counters with a nice leg kick.
Namor McKenzie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Emelianenko throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fedor Emelianenko will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Emelianenko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McKenzie sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McKenzie tries a head kick but it misses.
Emelianenko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McKenzie.
Emelianenko throws an overhand right that lands on McKenzie's shoulder, as McKenzie tries to avoid the shot.
Emelianenko takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Emelianenko fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
McKenzie connects with a single shot there.
Emelianenko looks to land a right hand but McKenzie moved out of range.
Emelianenko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McKenzie defends it nicely.
Emelianenko is really struggling to find his range with his punches. McKenzie's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Emelianenko cracks McKenzie with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Emelianenko missing with a left hand there. McKenzie was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McKenzie moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Emelianenko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McKenzie.
McKenzie works the jab nicely.
McKenzie tests Emelianenko's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches up with McKenzie, looking for a takedown. Emelianenko pushes McKenzie against the cage but McKenzie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McKenzie has Emelianenko up against the cage in a clinch.

Emelianenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Emelianenko shoots in but no luck this time.
McKenzie lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Emelianenko with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McKenzie to score with a decent uppercut.
McKenzie lands with a kick to the ribs.
McKenzie scores with a decent looking hook.
McKenzie cracks Emelianenko with a right hand to the side of the head.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Emelianenko is defended easily by McKenzie.

McKenzie sends Emelianenko crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! McKenzie is motioning to the referee to let Emelianenko up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Emelianenko is rocked!
Namor McKenzie seems to be getting the better of the standup.
McKenzie connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
McKenzie lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
McKenzie throws a leg kick which misses Emelianenko's front leg but catches the back leg as Emelianenko tries to avoid it.
McKenzie fails in his attempt to clinch.
McKenzie fakes the leg kick and cracks Emelianenko in the body.
McKenzie lands a nice shot to the body.
McKenzie lands a slapping body shot.
Emelianenko tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Emelianenko doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Fedor Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McKenzie thumps Emelianenko with a low kick.
McKenzie has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Emelianenko throws a lazy right hand but McKenzie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Emelianenko swings and misses with a shot to the body
and McKenzie counters with a hugh head kick that removes Emelianenko from consiousness! A brutal head kick knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Namor McKenzie!
Namor McKenzie was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
