Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Drogo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Drogo throws a right and a left that Machida avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drogo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Drogo counters with a nice kick to the body.

Drogo shoots in for a takedown but Machida shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Machida fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Drogo manages to avoid it.

and Machida counters with a three punch combo that has Drogo backing up. Drogo nods at Machida to acknowledge the strikes.

Drogo tries to pull guard but Machida forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.

A frustrated look appears on Drogo's face as he tries to break the clinch.

and Machida counters with a leg kick.

Drogo tries for a takedown but Machida sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Drogo dives in and grabs Machida's left leg, looking for a takedown. Machida pushes down on Drogo's head and hops out.

and Machida counters with a series of strikes. Drogo will be more careful next time no doubt.

Horrible takedown by Drogo or perhaps it was just good defense by Machida which made him look bad.

Drogo shoots in looking for a takedown but Machida manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Drogo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
