Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamed Juras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Werdum comes to the ring accompanied by Jedi Mind Tricks - On the Eve of War feat. GZA. Juras has chosen Tiger as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdum looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Werdum lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Juras circles away quickly and effectively.
Werdum jabs Juras to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Juras counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Fabricio Werdum has been cut.

Juras scores with a takedown into Werdum's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Werdum can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Juras controls the pace.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Juras decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Werdum, up you get!
Juras shoots for a takedown but Werdum saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Juras has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Juras has picked Werdum up - he's going for a ride! Juras dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Juras is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Juras stands up out of the half guard.
Juras fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fabricio Werdum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mamed Juras.
Nice takedown defense from Werdum. No joy for Juras on that attempt.
Werdum punishes Juras's body with a nice straight punch.
Werdum shoots for a double leg takedown but Juras sprawls well. He's pushed Werdum's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Juras clinches up with Werdum and pushes him back against the ropes.

Juras has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Werdum regains guard immediately.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Juras counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Werdum escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Juras seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Juras winds up and cracks Werdum with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Juras is looking to take a break and control but Werdum is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
