The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helderski tries for a takedown but Vanderbeet circles away easily
and Vanderbeet counters with a good low kick that Helderski was not able to check.
An inside leg kick lands from Vanderbeet.
Helderski avoids the body shot from Vanderbeet.
Vanderbeet throws a low kick but it's checked well by Helderski.

Vanderbeet feints and then cracks Helderski's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Helderski down.
Helderski fails to land with a series of punches.
Helderski throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Helderski closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Vanderbeet quickly recovers to half guard.
Helderski is pressing down on Vanderbeet's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vanderbeet is holding on for now.
Helderski is nestled in close to Vanderbeet, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Helderski throws an elbow that misses. Vanderbeet uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Helderski's guard. Nice move by Vanderbeet!

Helderski is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Vanderbeet frees his head nicely. Oh but Helderski has switched to an armbar! Vanderbeet is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
