The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karamyenyan throws out a leg kick but Kreps moves out of range and Karamyenyan only half commits.

Kreps darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Karamyenyan trying to get back to full guard but Kreps takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Karamyenyan wants to hold on but Kreps pushes him away.
Kreps throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Kreps looking to break Karamyenyan's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Karamyenyan remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kreps will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Kreps has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Kreps gets a clinch.

Kreps gets control of Karamyenyan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kreps will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kreps pulls Karamyenyan in close to prevent any damage.

Karamyenyan wants to control from the top but Kreps keeps moving.
Kreps controls Karamyenyan momentarily but Karamyenyan frees himself.
Karamyenyan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karamyenyan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
