Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pat Miletich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miletich comes to the ring accompanied by Canibus- 2nd Round Knockout. Penn has chosen Awesome as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miletich closes the distance and clinches up with Penn, looking for a takedown. Miletich pushes Penn against the ropes but Penn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No joy there for Penn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Miletich counters with a single leg into guard. Penn didn't expect that.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That's time! Miletich's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Miletich throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Penn was covering up waiting for the punch and Miletich finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Penn can do anything to dispel that myth.

Miletich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Miletich wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Penn is now in half guard.
