PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sun Whan Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rush is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Sun Whan Lee has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Lee.
Rush is breathing heavily.
Lee connects with a single shot there.
Lee swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rush.
Lee scores with a hook to the body. Rush takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rush swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Lee darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lee content to control rather than advance.
Rush blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lee.

Rush keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Lee tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rush knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Lee throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lee lands strikes from half guard.
Lee working over Rush with some ground and pound. Rush looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Lee is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Lee lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Lee perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lee is nestled in close to Rush, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Lee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lee keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Lee works his foot free and advances to mount.
BOOM! Lee connects with a massive shot to the dome!


It looks like Scott Rush has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lee sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Lee is landing with some decent strikes but Rush is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Rush is rocked!


Scott Rush's cut is getting worse.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lee lands with some strikes.
Oh Rush is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The referee warns Rush that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sun Whan Lee dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Scott Rush's cut.
That's time! Rush's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lee lands a nice shot to the body.
Rush seems to have got his legs back now.

Rush tries to sprawl but Lee drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lee lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lee scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Lee lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Lee drops an elbow to the side of Rush's head.
Lee takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lee is taking a breather. Rush says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lee passes the guard and advances to mount!
Lee postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Rush in real trouble here! The ref calls for Rush to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sun Whan Lee!
A very excited looking Sun Whan Lee made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
