Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Al Fassak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Belmont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christian Belmont has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Fassak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christian Belmont!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Belmont misses

and Fassak decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Belmont's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Fassak is pushing down on Belmont's leg trying to pass to half guard. Belmont is fighting to maintain full guard but Fassak has managed to sneak the leg through.
Belmont is looking to control Fassak's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Belmont avoid being mounted?

Fassak seems to be looking for submissions.

Fassak wants to finish this one by submission but Belmont is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fassak.

Fassak wriggles free and stands up.
Belmont closes the distance and clinches up with Fassak, looking for a takedown. Belmont pushes Fassak against the cage but Fassak circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fassak closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Belmont's guard.
Fassak wants to control from the top but Belmont keeps moving.

Belmont really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fassak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Al Fassak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Belmont.
Fassak controlling the action here for a moment.
Fassak avoids a wild elbow strike from Belmont.

Fassak jumps guard and drags Belmont to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Belmont trying to control the position from guard on top but Fassak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Belmont must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Fassak has control of Belmont's left arm, preventing Belmont from doing any damage.

Fassak is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Belmont rolls with it to try and escape but Fassak cranks on the arm and Belmont is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
