PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elmo Elmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Lotus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lotus comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eye of the tiger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elmo tries for a takedown but Lotus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Elmo misses with a lunging right hand
and Lotus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Elmo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lotus was well out of range. Poor timing from Elmo.
Elmo buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lotus changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Lotus swinging wildly here.
Elmo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lotus.
Elmo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Elmo tried to score with a low kick but Lotus checks it.
Lotus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Elmo as he jumps to the side.
Lotus scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

A solid leg kick lands there for Elmo.
Lotus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lotus darts in and clinches Elmo up against the cage.
Elmo wants a takedown.
Elmo lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Elmo jumps into guard, dragging Lotus to the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Lotus is looking to stand up but Elmo won't let him.
Elmo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lotus is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Elmo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Elmo keeping full guard, as Lotus tries to pass.
Elmo pulls Lotus in to control the position.

Lotus would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Elmo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lotus is aware though and is defending well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Elmo is looking for a triangle but Lotus pushes his legs off easily.
Lotus trying to control but Elmo is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lotus is looking to stand up but Elmo won't let him.
Elmo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Elmo has his foot on Lotus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lotus works his way back into a safe position though.
Lotus tries to free his leg and advance position but Elmo is retaining full guard.
Elmo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lotus!

Elmo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Elmo prevents Lotus from getting the reversal.
Elmo looking to finish Lotus with some ground and pound. This is bad for Lotus!
The referee warns Lotus that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Elmo breaks from Lotus's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Lotus wants to control but Elmo is having none of it.
Elmo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Lotus is in a horrible position here. Elmo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Elmo working for a submission but Lotus is keeping him at bay.
Lotus keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Elmo cracks Lotus with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
