Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Taneli Maija!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Krush!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Krush darts in and clinches Maija up against the cage.
Krush misses with a body punch.
Krush tries to throw a body punch but Maija avoids it by throwing Krush back against the cage.

Krush's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Alexander Krush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Krush pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Krush moves into the clinch.

Krush escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Maija takes a shot to the head.
Krush lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Krush lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Krush wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Krush pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Maija gets tackled into the cage by Krush. Krush maintains the clinch.
Maija stalling against the cage.

Krush breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Krush lands a front kick.
Krush throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Maija's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Krush dives in looking to finish as Maija flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Krush's strikes! Krush is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Maija's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Maija was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Krush!
After the fight, Alexander Krush was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
