Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson walks into a stiff left hand from Mote.

Stevenson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mote sprawls well initially but Stevenson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Stevenson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mote with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Stevenson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Stevenson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mote looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mote looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mote!

Let's hope that Stevenson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bear Stevenson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
