Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luca Brasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luca Brasi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Werdum!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Werdum 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Brasi cracks Werdum with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Werdum shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Werdum shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brasi but Brasi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Werdum shoots in and drives through. Brasi sprawls well.
Luca Brasi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabricio Werdum.

Brasi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Werdum is looking for a triangle but Brasi pushes his legs off easily.

Werdum has his foot on Brasi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brasi works his way back into a safe position though.
Brasi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Werdum works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brasi distracts Werdum with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Werdum is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Brasi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Brasi landing some decent shots from guard.
Brasi tries to free his leg and advance position but Werdum is retaining full guard.
Brasi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Brasi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Brasi landing with the ground and pound.
Brasi scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Werdum looking for subs off his back but Brasi has passed one foot through into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Brasi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Brasi throwing shots but Werdum is blocking nicely.
Werdum trying to control but Brasi postures up.
Brasi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Brasi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Werdum with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Werdum is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Brasi throwing shots but Werdum is blocking nicely.
Brasi trying to mount his opponent but Werdum defends it.
Werdum is pressing down on Brasi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brasi wants to control from the top but Werdum keeps moving.

Brasi is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Brasi stands and throws Werdum's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Brasi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brasi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Werdum tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brasi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Werdum tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Brasi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Brasi prevents Werdum from getting the reversal.

It looks like Fabricio Werdum has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Werdum is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Werdum looks winded!
Brasi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Werdum can't escape the position.
Brasi looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Brasi breaks from Werdum's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Brasi tries to control but Werdum wriggling away.
Brasi scoring with strikes but Werdum is staying in there.
Brasi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.


That has opened up Fabricio Werdum's cut even more.
Brasi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Werdum tries to hold on but Brasi pushes him away.
Brasi in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Fabricio Werdum's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.



Brasi looking to score a takedown here. Werdum is defending well but Brasi drives through and ends up in Werdum's guard.

Werdum has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brasi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Werdum throws his legs up looking for a submission but Brasi uses it to pass to side control.

Brasi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Brasi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Brasi cracks Werdum with a big right hand but Werdum just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.


The cut above Fabricio Werdum's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Brasi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Werdum can do to turn this around?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Werdum dodges the ground and pound from Brasi.
Werdum is not content to let Brasi control the position.
Luca Brasi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brasi is working Werdum over with some ground and pound from side control.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Fabricio Werdum's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
