PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Irwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miksu Rupunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irwin comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - T.N.T. Rupunen has chosen Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rupunen thows a left - swing and a miss!
Irwin cracks Rupunen with a right hand to the side of the head.
No joy there for Rupunen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That kick from Irwin tenderised Rupunen's leg. Rupunen is trying to keep his angry face on.
Rupunen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rupunen misses with a combination
and Irwin counters with a nice uppercut.
Rupunen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Irwin moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Rupunen ducks right into an uppercut from Irwin.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rupunen shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Irwin eats them both and turns towards Rupunen to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Irwin thumps Rupunen with a low kick.
Rupunen throws a series of punches but Irwin moves out of range.
Rupunen fails with the takedown.
Rupunen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Rupunen misses with a double jab.
A big right from Irwin misses.
Rupunen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rupunen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Irwin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Irwin throws a shot to the body.
Irwin missing with a left hand there. Rupunen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Irwin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Good shot there by Irwin.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rupunen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rupunen throws a right hand that Irwin ducks under and follows up with a left that Irwin also avoids with ease.
Rupunen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rupunen.

and Irwin counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Irwin lands a big uppercut and Rupunen crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Rupunen looks OK. Irwin waves Rupunen back to his feet!

Rupunen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Irwin counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
