Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brynden Rivers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Montana!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivers forces Montana back against the ropes and clinches.
Rivers lands an elbow inside that Montana shrugs off.
Rivers pushes Montana back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A short right from Rivers.
Montana drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rivers lands a knee to the body.
Rivers is pressed up against the ropes. Montana has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rivers down to the mat. Rivers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A shot to the liver by Rivers. Beautiful body shot.
Montana shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rivers but Rivers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Brynden Rivers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Montana.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rivers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Montana, pushing him back against the ropes.
Rivers is pressed up against the ropes. Montana has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rivers down to the mat. Rivers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
A left hand lands to the body for Rivers.

Montana misses with a hook to the ribs.
Rivers lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Rivers lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Rivers lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Rivers avoiding damage as Montana throws knees to the body.
Rivers lands a nice knee to the body.
Montana tries to work over Rivers's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Montana takes an elbow to the forehead.

Montana has Rivers pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Montana pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Rivers tumbling to the mat - Montana dives into Rivers's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rivers wants to stand up but Montana is controlling him.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Montana trying to control but Rivers is working from the bottom.
Montana prevents Rivers from getting back to his feet.
Montana must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Montana wants to control from the top but Rivers keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tony Montana hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rivers moves in looking to clinch but Montana pushes him off.
Rivers tries to clinch but Montana moves out of range.

Montana shoots in for a takedown but Rivers shows good takedown defense.
Montana keeps the fight on the outside.
Rivers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Montana swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Montana takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Montana tries to keep at a distance but Rivers has taken the fight into the clinch.
Montana is trying to drag Rivers to the mat but Rivers just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Rivers lands an elbow just above Montana 's eye.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Rivers.
Rivers gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Montana goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rivers prevents it.
Rivers lands an elbow just above Montana 's eye.
Rivers with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Rivers prevents a takedown attempt there.
Montana has had enough of the clinch but Rivers keeps him there for the moment.
Montana takes a knee right on the jaw!
Rivers is stalling here.
Montana is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rivers is defending well.

Rivers lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Montana pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.

Rivers trying to control the position but instead, Montana has worked for underhooks and has pushed Rivers into the ropes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rivers lands an elbow that stopped Montana in his tracks for a moment.

Montana has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rivers after a bit of a struggle.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Rivers.
Montana takes a knee right on the jaw!
Montana is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Rivers lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Rivers lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Montana backwards.


Montana is rocked!
Montana misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Rivers has Montana pressed up against the ropes in a tight Thai clinch. Montana is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Rivers - that's hurt Montana badly! Oh, another knee lands and Montana is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Montana doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Brynden Rivers!
Our winner, Brynden Rivers, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
