Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edmundo Edilhson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rurik Kokovtsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edmundo Edilhson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rurik Kokovtsov!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edilhson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kokovtsov.
Kokovtsov tried to score with a low kick but Edilhson checks it.
Kokovtsov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Edilhson moves away.

Rurik Kokovtsov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Edilhson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kokovtsov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kokovtsov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kokovtsov!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kokovtsov is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Edilhson is working for a guillotine from mount but Kokovtsov frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but I would say that Edmundo Edilhson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Edilhson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Kokovtsov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Edilhson to score with a decent uppercut.
Edilhson tries to bum rush Kokovtsov with a series of wild strikes but Kokovtsov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Edilhson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Edilhson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kokovtsov can do anything to dispel that myth.

I would just about give that final round to Rurik Kokovtsov.
I think Edilhson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
