PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earl Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solofa Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes into the arena with Cotton eye Joe blaring out of the sound system. Fatu has chosen Bad Man as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Earl Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Solofa Fatu!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fatu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lee moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fatu as he avoids it easily.
Fatu takes a swing at Lee's ribcage but misses.

Lee looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Fatu controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Fatu manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Fatu fails to land with a series of punches.
Lee tries for a takedown but Fatu sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lee has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Earl Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lee has closed the distance and engaged Fatu in a clinch.
Lee tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Lee breaks from the clinch.
Lee shoots and misses
and Fatu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fatu fails to land with a series of punches.
Solofa Fatu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fatu closes the distance and clinches up with Lee, looking for a takedown. Fatu pushes Lee against the cage but Lee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lee slips a jab and a cross from Fatu.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Lee shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fatu defends it nicely.
Lee is breathing heavily.
Fatu wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Lee moves forwards but Fatu connects with a nice, crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Oooooh!!! Fatu has knocked Lee down with a huge combo! Fatu steps away and waves a wobbly Lee back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Lee is rocked!

It looks like Earl Lee has been cut.
A combination from Fatu does no damage.
Oh Lee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fatu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lee circles away quickly and effectively.
Lee drops his hands momentarily. Fatu doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Lee staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Lee doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
