Giovinco comes to the cage accompanied by Lift me up. Jason Mato has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sebastian Giovinco's chin.

With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Mato!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Giovinco closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mato to the mat! Mato manages to get full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mato can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mato really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Giovinco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mato throws a right hand that Giovinco ducks under and follows up with a left that Giovinco also avoids with ease.
Giovinco throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mato's waist but Mato gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Giovinco off to one side.
Mato smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Mato comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mato stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mato wants it to stay on the feet.

Giovinco shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mato's guard.

Giovinco fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
