The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Romanov swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Romanov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Romanov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Romanov passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Balu!
Balu has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Romanov throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Balu!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Romanov is cranking Balu's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Balu! He's tightened the choke and Balu is tapping out!

A relieved looking Vyacheslav Romanov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
