PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Whales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Koontz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Koontz's choice of entrance music: DJ Khaled-Im so hood remix. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Whales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Koontz!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Whales scores with a takedown into Koontz's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Whales trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koontz keeping moving, preventing Whales from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Patrick Whales wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Whales throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Koontz's waist but Koontz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Whales off to one side.

A close second round but Jason Koontz will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Whales sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Koontz's guard.
Whales seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Whales throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Whales is keen to just control but Koontz is a slippery customer.
Whales thows a huge punch but Koontz dodges it nicely.
