The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Riggs falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Helgi to counter with a crisp jab.
Riggs misses with a left hand
letting Helgi counter with a right hand.
Helgi moves out of range of the strikes.
Riggs throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Helgi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Helgi swings away with a body shot that misses
and Riggs counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Helgi thinking.
Riggs throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Helgi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Helgi avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Helgi tried to score with a low kick but Riggs checks it.
Riggs scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Bjorn Helgi has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Riggs cracks Helgi with a right hand to the side of the head.
Riggs takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Good standup being displayed there by Riggs as he connects with a hook.

Helgi closes the distance and pushes Riggs back into the cage.

Riggs lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Helgi or not.

Riggs tries a body shot but Helgi blocks it.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Helgi.

Riggs throws a head punch that misses.
A left hand lands to the body for Helgi.

Riggs breaks the clinch.
Helgi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Helgi scores with the left hand. Riggs knows he should have avoided that one.
Helgi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Riggs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A telegraphed right hand from Helgi misses the target.
Riggs lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Helgi slaps away a takedown attempt from Riggs, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riggs throws a shot from downtown. Helgi moves away and avoids it.
Helgi attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Helgi misses with a straight right.
Riggs tests Helgi's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Helgi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Helgi is rocked!
Riggs throws a hook to the side of Helgi's head but Helgi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Oh Helgi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Helgi gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Riggs gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
