Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason has chosen Kavinsky - Nightcall as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Samuel Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Mason!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason throws a sloppy head kick and Adams moves out of range easily.
Adams tests Mason's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Adams, as that shot connected.
Adams lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Adams.
Adams lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Adams.

Adams fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mason to the ground. Adams is now in Mason's guard.
Mason preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mason working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Adams trying to control the position from guard on top but Mason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mason looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Mason had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Adams defends it easily.
Adams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mason swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Adams working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Adams looking to sit in guard and control but Mason gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mason drops back, looking for a kneebar! Adams looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Adams looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Adams!
Mason can't do much from the bottom here.
Mason sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Adams looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Mason slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Adams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Mason has his foot on Adams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Adams works his way back into a safe position though.

Adams is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Adams throws a big elbow that misses.
Adams looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mason working for a triangle but Adams defends it easily.
Adams wants to stand but Mason is controlling his posture from full guard.
Adams is in close to Mason's body, working some short punches and elbows.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Adams tries to free his leg and advance position but Mason is retaining full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samuel Adams dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mason shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Adams as he avoids it easily.

Samuel Adams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Mason.
Mason fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Adams avoids it really well and circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mason looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mason swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Adams lands with a slapping head kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mason is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Adams.

Mason feints and as Adams raises his hands in defense, Mason changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mason drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Adams dives on top into guard.

Mason looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Adams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mason's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Adams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mason has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Adams has managed to get both his arms back between Mason's legs - danger averted.

Mason is looking to control Adams's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mason avoid being mounted?

Adams is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mason has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mason is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Adams pulls his head out easily.

Mason takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Adams postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mason looks a forlorn figure.
Mason is in a horrible position here. Adams smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


Mason is rocked!
Mason is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mason is still in real trouble! Can Adams finish him?
A big strike lands for Adams! That's really hurt Mason and he's turned his back - Adams keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Adams jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samuel Adams!
An out of breath Samuel Adams thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
