The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibbons scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Socially Awkward Penguin has been cut.
Gibbons shoots in for a takedown but Penguin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Gibbons gets tackled into the cage by Penguin. Penguin maintains the clinch.

Gibbons breaks from the clinch.

Penguin wants to clinch up but Gibbons keeps it at a distance.

Penguin closes the distance and clinches.
Gibbons tries to pull guard but Penguin won't allow it.
Gibbons drops down looking for an ankle pick but Penguin pulls his leg out and moves away.
Socially Awkward Penguin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Duke Gibbons.

Gibbons gets tackled into the cage by Penguin. Penguin maintains the clinch.

Penguin tries a knee to the head but Gibbons blocks it.
Gibbons can't break the clinch.

Penguin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Penguin manages to end up in side control.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gibbons is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Penguin lands a decent elbow from side control.
Gibbons is pushing Penguin's head away, looking to escape. Penguin manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gibbons takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Gibbons is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Penguin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Penguin looks up at the clock and then as Gibbons takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Penguin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Penguin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gibbons is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Gibbons is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
