PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between DJ Youngblood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Misual Lalpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lalpa has chosen Seek n Destroy as his entrance music. Misual Lalpa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, DJ Youngblood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Misual Lalpa!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Youngblood closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lalpa's guard.
Youngblood trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Youngblood trying to control but Lalpa is working from the bottom.

Youngblood avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lalpa wants to stand but Youngblood is controlling the position.
Youngblood trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Youngblood trying to control the position from guard on top but Lalpa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lalpa is on top in guard.

Youngblood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lalpa forces his way into half guard.
Lalpa wants to pass to mount but Youngblood is defending the position.
Lalpa is trying to control. Youngblood wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Youngblood wants to get back to full guard.
Lalpa wants to get back to his feet.
Lalpa wants to take a breather but Youngblood is having none of it.
Youngblood trying to hold on to Lalpa's head to control him but Lalpa postures up.
Lalpa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Youngblood does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Misual Lalpa.

Lalpa scores a takedown into full mount!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Youngblood is looking to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lalpa is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
DJ Youngblood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lalpa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lalpa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lalpa prevents Youngblood from getting the reversal.
Youngblood is breathing heavily.
Lalpa tries to control but Youngblood wriggling away.
Youngblood is wriggling around trying to escape.

Lalpa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Youngblood is now in Lalpa's guard. A big mistake from Lalpa there, giving up the dominant position!

Lalpa keeping full guard, as Youngblood tries to pass.
Lalpa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lalpa working over Youngblood with some ground and pound. Youngblood looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Lalpa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Youngblood is just riding it out for now. Lalpa eventually gives up the hold.

Lalpa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Youngblood doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lalpa.

Lalpa is trying to work for a kimura but Youngblood is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lalpa wants to control but Youngblood is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Misual Lalpa dominated that round.
That's time! Youngblood's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Lalpa rushes Youngblood and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Youngblood pulls guard successfully.
Youngblood wants to sweep here but Lalpa controlling him for the moment.
Lalpa stays in close to Youngblood's body and controls the position.
Lalpa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Youngblood tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lalpa wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Youngblood takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lalpa stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Lalpa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Youngblood has a hand on Lalpa's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Lalpa takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lalpa controlling the pace for now.

Lalpa looking for a guillotine from mount but Youngblood is having none of it.
Youngblood tries to reverse the position but Lalpa maintains control.
The referee warns Youngblood that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Youngblood can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lalpa landing shots from mount.
Lalpa looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Lalpa stands up from mount. Strange move.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lalpa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Lalpa is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Youngblood is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Youngblood tries to bench press Lalpa off him but Lalpa keeps the position.
Youngblood being controlled for a moment.

Lalpa stands up and beckons Youngblood to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Lalpa.

Lalpa feints and as Youngblood raises his hands in defense, Lalpa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lalpa advances position into side control!

Lalpa decides to stand back up. Lalpa steps back and let's Youngblood get back to his feet.

Youngblood gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lalpa to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lalpa trying to control but Youngblood is working from the bottom.
Youngblood looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lalpa is one step ahead there.
Youngblood looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lalpa puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lalpa is looking for a kimura here.
Lalpa is looking to take a break and control but Youngblood is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Youngblood is defending against the submission attempts here by Lalpa.

Youngblood is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lalpa pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Misual Lalpa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Lalpa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Youngblood tries to reverse the position but Lalpa maintains control.
Lalpa manages to capitalize on a mistake by Youngblood to take his back!
Youngblood is really stuck here.
Lalpa wants to control but Youngblood is keeping busy.

Lalpa has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Youngblood has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lalpa is cranking Youngblood's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Youngblood! He's tightened the choke and Youngblood is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Misual Lalpa!
A very excited looking Misual Lalpa rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
