PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yushin Okami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dobryi Dag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Okami comes to the cage accompanied by EMF - Unbelieveble. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dag swings widly with a right hand
and Okami counters with a series of strikes. Dag will be more careful next time no doubt.
Dag throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Okami's waist but Okami gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dag off to one side.
Okami ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dag's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Okami connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dag scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Dobryi Dag has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dag is trying hard to land a takedown here. Okami sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A slow jab from Okami misses its intended target.
Dag fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Okami looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Dag is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Okami to keep the fight standing.

Dag thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Okami wants to stand up but Dag is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dag wants to pass the guard but Okami is keeping the position.

Dag wants to control from the top but Okami keeps moving.
Okami knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dag on the ground.
Dag stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Okami swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dag stands and throws Okami's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Dag looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Dag thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dag is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Okami has escaped the position, nice work there.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That was a close round but I would say that Yushin Okami will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Okami throws a right and a left that Dag avoids nicely.
Dag tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Okami manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dag tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Okami swivels and escapes.

Dag goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Okami turns into him and now he's in Dag's guard.

Dag is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Okami defends well.
Dag controls Okami momentarily but Okami frees himself.

Okami gets to his feet - Dag follows without any prompting.

Okami is pushing Dag's head away, looking to escape. Dag manages to hold on to the position though.

Dag misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Okami parries the strikes from Dag easily there. Dag is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Okami to escape.

Okami throws a shot from downtown. Dag moves away and avoids it.

Okami bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dag's head.

and Okami counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Okami leaves Dag with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Dag misses with a few strikes there.
Dag throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

and Okami counters with a lead uppercut that lands right on the button! Dag goes down! Will Dag beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's up! No problem. Let's get back to the action!

Dobryi Dag's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dobryi Dag's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

During a confident post fight interview, Yushin Okami thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
