The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Maiden.
Maiden throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Santos clinches with his opponent.
Maiden working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Santos looking for a takedown.
Santos is trying to pull guard but Maiden has him pressed against the cage.
A short uppercut from Maiden.
Maiden lands a right hand.
Maiden makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Maiden working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Maiden stops a takedown attempt from Santos.
Eddy Maiden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ino Santos.
Maiden lands a body shot.
Maiden is pressed up against the cage. Santos has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maiden down to the mat. Maiden avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Maiden works Santos's body with a nice hook.
Santos takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Santos shoots and misses
and Maiden counters with a nice leg kick.

and Maiden counters with a nice low kick that buckles Santos's knee momentarily.
Maiden lands a two punch combo.

It looks like Ino Santos has been cut.
Eddy Maiden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maiden thows a body kick. Santos tries to catch it but that hurt him.
The crowd cheers as Maiden lands an impressive looking overhand right. Santos doesn't seem phased though.

Maiden sends Santos crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Maiden is motioning to the referee to let Santos up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Santos is rocked!
Maiden throws a monster overhand right that drops Santos! Maiden follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddy Maiden!
A relieved looking Eddy Maiden thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
