PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mads Rosenkilde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ford comes to the cage accompanied by For What It's Worth. Rosenkilde comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Danzig - 'Mother' kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mads Rosenkilde!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ford wants to clinch but Rosenkilde slips to the side
and Rosenkilde counters with a nice uppercut.
Ford tries to close the distance and clinch but Rosenkilde swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rosenkilde leaves Ford with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ford is looking to clinch.

and Rosenkilde counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ford closes the distance looking to clinch

and Rosenkilde counters by moving into the clinch.
Ford wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rosenkilde has him pressed against the cage.
Ford has Rosenkilde pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rosenkilde manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ford goes for a takedown attempt but Rosenkilde pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Ford. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A punch combination from Ford misses.
Ford is looking to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Rosenkilde. No joy for Ford on that attempt.
Ford wants to clinch but Rosenkilde slips to the side
letting Rosenkilde counter with a right hand.

Rosenkilde lands a left and a right that send Ford crashing to the mat, dazed. Rosenkilde thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Ford is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rosenkilde finds Ford's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Ford flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Rosenkilde lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Ford will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mads Rosenkilde!
