Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samuel Washington!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Worrell darts in trying to clinch
and Washington cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Washington throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Washington connects with a right hand. Worrell shakes it off.
Washington throws a shot to the body.
Washington lands a nice shot to the body.
Eric Worrell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Worrell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Washington sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Worrell somewhat.
Worrell tries for a takedown but Washington sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Worrell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Washington sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Washington digs a right hand underneath Worrell's ribcage. Worrell let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Washington escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Washington ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Worrell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Samuel Washington is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Washington clinches up with Worrell and pushes him back against the cage.
Worrell wants a takedown.
Washington lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Washington cracks Worrell with a nice body shot.
A short body shot lands from Washington as the two fighters clinch.
Washington lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Worrell wants to stall.

Worrell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Washington has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Worrell has managed to get both his arms back between Washington's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Washington is pushing Worrell up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Washington continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samuel Washington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Worrell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Washington's waist but Washington gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Worrell off to one side.

Worrell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Washington is pressing down on Worrell's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Worrell wants to control from the top but Washington keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Washington pulls Worrell in to control the position.

Worrell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Washington swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Worrell wants to control from the top but Washington keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eric Worrell wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Worrell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Washington defends it nicely.

It looks like Eric Worrell has been cut.
Worrell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Washington moves away.
